Planned by man, God, Archons, Lizards, One World fascists or simply through the inevitable laws of chaos, entropy and the devolution and decay that results when an empire the size and power of the American Empire, with it’s extent of years of national, blind and destructive hubris, enters within the inescapable, destructive pull of the event horizon of a black hole of our nation’s own creation: Does it matter, at least in the short run?
I have felt, and mentioned on many occasions that America, and the world with it, was entering a long period of socioeconomic decay and upheaval that could extend far beyond what most of the more mainstream members of the “Cassandra’s of Doom” club have been predicting for some time. Unlike the various, more visible subsets of this club, the process unfolding is not the result of anyone specific trend that can, in any way be contained or reversed. We face our dystopian future not as a result of overpopulation, anthropomorphic global warming/climate/change/catastrophic weather nor resource depletion and water wars but as a direct result of not only the American Empires own hubris, but that of all of Western civilizations.
The ancient Greeks were correct about many things, but the one idea that is most relevant today is their belief that hubris, the self-pride of man and mankind that offended the God’s was the greatest of human sins and the cause of the downfall of all tragic heroes and cultures. With the obvious incongruity of naming a law about hubris after oneself, the law that I have coined is called Straus’s Law of Hubris: The duration and magnitude of the period of hubris is ultimately matched by the duration and magnitude of the fall from grace.
First, I can attest to the power of this law on a personal basis, as I have personally fallen from a silver spoon born, arrogant, art collecting, accumulator of “things”, Wall Street “master of the universe”, making millions and never seeming to have a care in the world, to a renting, dead broke, divorced, seeker of truth whose two dogs have literally likely kept me alive. I am hoping that at some point hopefully soon, perhaps the magnitude of my decline will compensate for the duration of my prior years of arrogance and hubris.
But, this is a personal digression of little interest to anyone who finds my posts and comments remotely of interest. The real issue is that American hubris truly started, in my calculation, with the real commitment to empire, the totally unnecessary,American instigated and jingoistic Spanish American War in 1898. Some may place the date earlier, perhaps even with the coerced annexation of Spanish and Mexican territory, but making the leap to non-contiguous lands and the subsequent bloody subjugation of their people under American rule seems to be the more defined point where America began it’s inevitable, well documented march to losing its national soul. And although, one can find sentiments of extraordinary, overblown puffery from the very start of the founding of the nation and philosophical roots going back even further, when national hubris spills over onto the world stage under the sword, a fairly well defined point is created to provide the front cover of the book defining the American Empire and its synchronous rise of an inordinate, God offending pride and arrogance.
As, with the Roman Empire, whose peak reign of powers stretched from roughly 290 BC to 250 AD, but whose hubris lasted practically to its ultimate fall, America and the world may be heading for a period of chaotic darkness, before a new civilization arises from our ashes, that could easily extend over the remainder of this century. Particularly so in this one regard; if Roman civilization was an evolutionary extension of the Greek’s and America’s is but an evolutionary extension of Britain’s and the French/Spanish Empires, then duration and magnitude of our nation’s and civilizations fall from grace could extend well over the next hundred years. Impossible? Nothing is impossible. Despite my doubts about anthropomorphic climate change, the laws of thermodynamics and entropy result in the ultimate dissipation of our bodies, our civilization and, God forbid, perhaps even our entire race.
Obama and the entire philosophical and ideological cesspool that spawned him is but a necessary, inevitable accelerant of a natural process: All empires end and the current American Fascist Empire is ending–and with it perhaps, the hubris of not only this nation, but of most of the worlds that became infected with Americanism.
Deadly, irrational, and determined, the intruder snuck across a weakened perimeter. Eluding capture, the intruder was detained only after missteps and close calls. The spin began soon after the threat was isolated. Information was selectively leaked. Half-truths and untruths were uttered. Responsibility was avoided; privileges and credentials asserted; authority reasserted. Trust us. Remain calm. Don’t panic.
This is the template of recent events. A mental case jumps the White House fence. He makes it to the East Room before he’s tackled by an off-duty Secret Service agent. Initial statements turn out to be misleading or false. We discover that lapses in security are much worse than previously understood, that in recent memory the White House was sprayed with bullets, and that an armed man with a criminal record rode in an elevator with the president. The official in charge of the Secret Service, promoted for reasons of affirmative action, resigns hours after the White House expresses its confidence in her abilities. The overriding impression is of disarray, confusion, bad management, failed communication, anomie, disillusion, corruption, and secrecy. But do not worry. Things are under control.
The elevator? It was in the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, where the president told the American people that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is not a threat to our country. President Obama said the chances of Ebola appearing in the United States are “extremely low.” If a carrier somehow finds his way to the 50 states, “We have world-class facilities and professionals ready to respond. And we have effective surveillance mechanisms in place.” Two weeks later, as Byron York points out, the president was proven utterly wrong.
The original statement on Canadian version of the US CDC:
MODE OF TRANSMISSION: In an outbreak, it is hypothesized that the first patient becomes infected as a result of contact with an infected animal (15). Person-to-person transmission occurs via close personal contact with an infected individual or their body fluids during the late stages of infection or after death (1, 2, 15, 27). Nosocomial infections can occur through contact with infected body fluids due to the reuse of unsterilized syringes, needles, or other medical equipment contaminated with these fluids (1, 2). Humans may be infected by handling sick or dead non-human primates and are also at risk when handling the bodies of deceased humans in preparation for funerals, suggesting possible transmission through aerosol droplets (2, 6, 28). In the laboratory, infection through small-particle aerosols has been demonstrated in primates, and airborne spread among humans is strongly suspected, although it has not yet been conclusively demonstrated (1, 6, 13). The importance of this route of transmission is not clear. Poor hygienic conditions can aid the spread of the virus

No more; the “airborne spread among humans is strongly suspected” language has been cleansed:

In 2010 Obama Admin Scrapped CDC Ebola Quarantine Rules | The Daily Caller
In October 2014, the first patient on American soil infected with the Ebola virus sits in isolation in a Texas hospital, prompting calls for travel restrictions between the United States and Ebola-stricken countries.
Meanwhile, four years ago, the administration of President Barack Obama moved with virtually no fanfare to abandon a comprehensive set of regulations which the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) had called essential to preventing international travelers from spreading deadly diseases inside the United States.
The CDC had proposed the regulations in 2005 under the administration of George W. Bush, reported USA Today in 2010. The original impetus for the regulations was fear that avian flu would spread unchecked.
