Perhaps George Carlin was right, to paraphrase, “The powers that be want people just smart enough to do the paperwork, but dumb enough to not complain.” This is what I think about every time I read anything about Common Core. Rising test scores or not, smart enough to do the paperwork and dumb enough not to complain is the end goal.
The State knows best? Extrapolate these graphs and it will not be too long until the American State has totally wiped out the ability of our nation’s children to think at all…but then that is clearly in the best interest of the State, is it not?
