Ruins of the Middle East | National Review Online–Excellent Read

Herbert Hoover cataloged the destination of the food and medical supplies we sent to Russia:   Food, clothing, and medical supplies: 27,588 tons sent to the areas controlled by the anti-communists. 740,571 tons sent to the areas controlled by the Bolsheviks. (This, when the vast majority of Russia was controlled by the “white” Russians and their foreign supporters) Charity from the United States: $332,508 sent to the areas controlled by the anti-communists. $55,994,588 sent to the areas controlled by the Bolsheviks.

==Brotherhood of Darkness (Dr. Stanley Monteith)

Good piece from Victor David Hanson. However, I caution all that standard interpretations of the actions of this President and his immediate advisers, even from the most virile and intelligent of minds is likely wrong. Wrong because reality, no matter how perceptive the observer, is usually far more complex and frankly far more convoluted and disturbing than anyone, except for those operating within the deep state itself, would or possibly could imagine.

Truth is buried so deeply and is very likely so disturbing that our conscious minds works overtime to keep us from not only discovering it, but accepting it. Nothing, absolutely nothing from this government and any of its representatives should be believed. From Doctor Frieden at the CDC to Susan Rice, who once again was sent out to absorb the ire of an increasingly frustrated and bewildered press, not even the assumptions we make from the “facts” that seem so self-evident are likely to be true.

The human mind, hampered by cognitive dissonance and constrained by our mental capacities of bounded rationality, finds it difficult to discover truth when it is buried in complexity even under “normal” conditions. But, now that America has passed the threshold of the black hole, even the known fuzzy laws of the quantum world are no longer valid, that is to the observer on the outside of elite realm of the designers of the current chaos, and most of us seeking rationality under the mental constructs of our Newtonian world are totally lost and will remain so.

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Obama’s unfortunate Middle East legacy was predicated on six flawed assumptions:

1 a special relationship with Turkey;

2 distancing the U.S. from Israel;

3 empathy for Islamist governments as exemplified by the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt;

4 a sort of non-aggression agreement with Iran;

5 expecting his own multicultural fides to resonate in the region;

6 pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
