Repetition and Pavlovian conditioning exhaust the individual and may seduce him ultimately to accept a truth he himself initially defied and scorned.—The Rape of the Mind: The Psychology of Thought Control, Menticide, and Brainwashing
Although biologically the brain capacity of the human race has remained the same for thousands of generations, it takes a long evolutionary process to arrive at objectivity, that is, to acquire the faculty to see the world, nature, other persons, and oneself as they are, and not distorted by desires and fears. The more man develops this objectivity, the more he is in touch with reality, the more he matures, the better can he create a human world in which he is at home. Reason is man’s faculty for grasping the world by thought, in contradiction to intelligence, which is man’s ability to manipulate the world with the help of thought. Reason is man’s instrument for arriving at the truth, intelligence is man’s instrument for manipulating the world more successfully; the former is essentially human, the latter belongs to the animal part of man.–The Sane Society, Eric Fromm
There are so few true, free minds left among what were once called “liberals” in America, or throughout the entirety of the crumbling edifices of Western Civilization. These are the intellects that have not succumbed to the extraordinary powers of the mind parasites that have infected the vast majority of our “sophisticated” and supposedly well-educated class or been cognitively paralyzed by cognitive dissonance, in many cases, well funded biases driven by greed and the desire for social acceptability and, what Gad Saad, in his excellent book, The Parasistic Mind, calls “Ostrich Parasistic Syndrome (OPS)” which he descirbes as a malady of disordered thinking that robs people f the ability to recognize obvious truths that are so obvious as the exitence of the sun. I can think of only a handful of these minds not yet destroyed by the miasma of clearly evil sourcing that has engulfed so many; Matt Taibbi, Chris Hedges and Glen Greenwald are amongst the most visible of this dying breed.

– How do you call something “Russian disinformation” when you don’t have evidence it is? Let’s count the ways.
We don’t know a whole lot about how the New York Post story about Hunter Biden got into print. There are some reasons to think the material is genuine (including its cache of graphic photos and some apparently limited confirmation from people on the email chains), but in terms of sourcing, anything is possible. This material could have been hacked by any number of actors and shopped for millions (as Time has reported), and all sorts of insidious characters – including notorious Russian partisans like Andrei Derkach – could have been behind it.
None of these details are known, however, which hasn’t stopped media companies from saying otherwise. Most major outlets began denouncing the story as foreign propaganda right away and haven’t stopped. A quick list of the creative methods seen lately of saying, “We don’t know, but we know!”:
