A pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy, beginning by early adulthood and present in a variety of contexts, as indicated by five (or more) of the following:

Lacks empathy: is unwilling to recognize or identify with the feelings and needs of others

Has a grandiose sense of self-importance (e.g., exaggerates achievements and talents, expects to be recognized as superior without commensurate achievements)

Has a sense of entitlement, i.e., unreasonable expectations of especially favorable treatment or automatic compliance with his or her expectations

Is interpersonally exploitative, i.e., takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends

Is often envious of others or believes others are envious of him or her

Requires excessive admiration

Shows arrogant, haughty behaviors or attitudes

Believes that he or she is “special” and unique and can only be understood by, or should associate with, other special or high-status people (or institutions)

Is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love

unnamed-5Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a pattern of self-centered or egotistical behavior that shows up in thinking and behavior in a lot of different situations and activities. People with NPD won’t (or can’t) change their behavior even when it causes problems at work or when other people complain about the way they act, or when their behavior causes a lot of emotional distress to others (or themselves? none of my narcissists ever admit to being distressed by their own behavior — they always blame other people for any problems). This pattern of self-centered or egotistical behavior is not caused by current drug or alcohol use, head injury, acute psychotic episodes, or any other illness, but has been going on steadily at least since adolescence or early adulthood.

Clearly, both President Obama and President elect Trump are seriously tainted with narcissism, but there are significant variances in degrees of this mental and emotional disorder. Trump impulsively responds to slights, affronts and those that he feels attack him with ideologically driven abuse. Twitter is a dangerous tool for those with this trait. However, I have no doubts that many a past President would have also had difficulty restraining themselves from using this modern source of instant response and gratification. Strong ego and a tinge of narcissism clearly is an important aspect of the personalities that fight the upstream battle to the Oval Office.

Though there is obvious narcissism expressed in the naming of buildings, planes and steaks after oneself, Trumps narcissism must be seriously diluted by the clear business considerations of creating a globally recognized brand. Imagine how far Gucci, Armani or other such brands named after the founding parent would have gotten if their stores and subsidiaries were dissociated with their brand name. Trump is a marketing phenomenon and his image of over the top conspicuous grandeur is more branding than anything else, the narcissism filled in behind.

obama-narcissusObama, on the other hand, is perfect example not only of narcissism, but of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD). Never in the history of the presidency has there been a President who mentions himself, the royal “I”, more than Obama has in every speech, every press conference and State Of The Union address. He is insatiably in love with himself. No one else can take credit for anything praiseworthy that he does, and the fault lies elsewhere (Fox News, an ignorant public) for failed policies or misinterpretations of his brilliance. This is a man who could walk into a room and be smacked in the face by a 500 pound rotten tuna by an angry subject of his rule and respond as if it were a bouquet of roses. He can not compute a world that does not see and understand and view him as he sees himself. It just does not compute.

Unfortunately for America and the incoming President, the rules do not apply to him and no past precedent, the long history of prior former Presidents, can provide any restraint on his future behavior. It is beyond sickening to me that this odious, pompous, smarmy narcissistic stooge will be forcing himself on us all for years to come.

Ex-Pres Considering Career in Digital Propaganda

Who better to wage a war on truth and reality than Obama who successfully turned an entire antiwar movement into war-loving drones.

With the mainstream media pushing the false narrative of “fake news” acting as a pox on society, it may come as no surprise to some that President Barack H. Obama is reportedly getting into the news business. Yes, that’s right. Sources say the soon to be former president is considering starting his own media company, which could resemble something like a liberal version of Alex Jones, for example.

So, could it be that the mainstream media is in the tank for Obama, helping him launch his new career in media, by recklessly driving home a false narrative on the American people that their alternative news sources simply cannot be trusted? Maybe. But no one appears to be holding their breath that the outgoing president will follow the example of his predecessor, George W. Bush, from whom the public has heard very little over the last eight years — outside of random appearances during which he laughs at murdered police officers’ funerals.

The White House communications director Jen Psaki denied the rumors, telling Policy.Mic in a statement, “While the president will remain actively engaged in inspiring young people and he is interested in the changing ways people consume information, he has no plans to get into the media business after he leaves office.”

But such a denial wouldn’t be the first time the White House purposefully launched misinformation into the world wide web for political purposes. After all, it was the Obama administration’s Ben Rhodes who bragged about creating an “echo chamber” of young, unwitting journalists to write what the administration wanted to propagate.

With highly respected individuals like Ben Stein, and Charles Krauthammer, both calling Obama a “narcissist,” it would be no surprise to many that the president’s desire to hear himself speak would be satiated within his own media empire. Just picture a website like www.obama.com. It’s available, for a price, and if acquired by the president, who knows, maybe it would become a reality. Oprah has hers (www.oprah.com), why not a former president?
