Why do individuals, groups, and nations act irrationally, often at the risk of self-destruction? Part of the problem lies in our definition of rationality.
In the past, nations that foresaw their own demise fell to the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War, Plague, Famine, and Death. Riding point for the old quartet in today’s more civilized world (American and the West) is a Fifth Horseman: Loss of Faith. Today’s cultures are dying of apathy, not by the swords of their enemy’s.
Individuals trapped in a dying culture live in a twilight world. They embrace death through infertility, concupiscence, and war. A dog will crawl into a hole to die. The members of sick cultures do not do anything quite so dramatic, but they cease to have children, dull their senses with alcohol and drugs, become despondent, and too frequently do away with themselves. Or they may make war on the perceived source of their humiliation.
===How Civilizations Die: (And Why Islam Is Dying Too) (David Goldman)
As David Horowitz has chronicled, the roots of the left’s alliance with Islamism lie in a logical progression of its core animus against America and the West. After communism imploded, those on the left did not conclude they had been mistaken—indeed, they could never think such a thing—but instead simply reshaped their belief system to perpetuate their revolutionary illusions by encompassing new nihilistic and anti-Western agendas, of which Islamism was one, alongside environmentalism, feminism and gay rights.
==The World Turned Upside Down (Melanie Phillips)
By now many of you have likely read this Atlantic piece, if not it is a must read. Now, if only Obama would oblige!!
Where did it come from, and what are its intentions? The simplicity of these questions can be deceiving, and few Western leaders seem to know the answers. In December, The New York Times published confidential comments by Major General Michael K. Nagata, the Special Operations commander for the United States in the Middle East, admitting that he had hardly begun figuring out the Islamic State’s appeal. “We have not defeated the idea,” he said. “We do not even understand the idea.” In the past year, President Obama has referred to the Islamic State, variously, as “not Islamic” and as al-Qaeda’s “jayvee team,” statements that reflected confusion about the group, and may have contributed to significant strategic errors.
The group seized Mosul, Iraq, last June, and already rules an area larger than the United Kingdom. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been its leader since May 2010, but until last summer, his most recent known appearance on film was a grainy mug shot from a stay in U.S. captivity at Camp Bucca during the occupation of Iraq. Then, on July 5 of last year, he stepped into the pulpit of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri in Mosul, to deliver a Ramadan sermon as the first caliph in generations—upgrading his resolution from grainy to high-definition, and his position from hunted guerrilla to commander of all Muslims. The inflow of jihadists that followed, from around the world, was unprecedented in its pace and volume, and is continuing.
Our ignorance of the Islamic State is in some ways understandable: It is a hermit kingdom; few have gone there and returned. Baghdadi has spoken on camera only once. But his address, and the Islamic State’s countless other propaganda videos and encyclicals, are online, and the caliphate’s supporters have toiled mightily to make their project knowable. We can gather that their state rejects peace as a matter of principle; that it hungers for genocide; that its religious views make it constitutionally incapable of certain types of change, even if that change might ensure its survival; and that it considers itself a harbinger of—and headline player in—the imminent end of the world.
Betrayal Papers: Under Obama The US Captured by the Muslim Brotherhood
The Betrayal Papers will trace the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Obama administration’s foreign and domestic policies.
The five-part series will present a picture of a conspiracy that is manipulating the American government to the benefit of a totalitarian, genocidal movement that seeks to establish a global Islamic State.
The Muslim Brotherhood is an international political, financial, terrorist and movement whose goal is to establish a global Islamic State (Caliphate).
They have and continue to exert tremendous influence of the American government’s foreign and domestic policies under President Barack Hussein Obama.
The violence in the Middle East and across North Africa is a direct consequence of the Muslim Brotherhood’s effective control over American foreign policy in the region.
They operate through various “civic” front groups, as well as through American institutions who take their money as operational funding (Georgetown University, Brookings Institution).
In America, we have a weak and struggling economy, growing public and private debt, and millions are un- and underemployed. While a weaponized IRS targets Tea Party groups and other voices of liberty, and military veterans are labeled as “domestic terrorists” by the Department of Homeland Security, the federal government refuses to secure the southern border. Educational policy now includes the teaching Arabic and visits to mosques for schoolchildren.
Internationally, America is in retreat. The Middle East is in ashes and in the midst of an ongoing genocide replete with daily horrors, the likes which have not been seen for centuries. Former allies have been abandoned and are embittered. Under the present leadership in the White House and State Department, Israel is considered the aggressor and Hamas the oppressed.
In sum, the world is at its most volatile point since the outbreak of World War II.
(I could not agree more with this last statement and I have absolutely no doubts that we are headed to a major war as well as violence throughout Europe and America–expect a period of hard tyranny before the “Western Spring”)
Shock as Obama Administration condemns Egypt’s attack on ISIS
The entire world is denouncing the US government for hypocrisy after the Obama administration condemned the Egyptian bombing of militants in Derna, Libya. The US launched a war in Libya in 2011 which turned Africa’s biggest economy into a violent failed state. The US is also currently bombing Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Pakistan. The US is also involved in the bombing of Mali by French forces.
Egypt and the UAE bombed ISIS affiliated militants in the Libyan city of Derna. It was retaliation for the massacre of 21 Christian Egyptians in Derna by Ansar al-Sharia.
The group Ansar al-Sharia is largely made up of the former Derna branch of the LIFG, which the United States armed and funded in 2011.
Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby, a Pentagon Spokesman for the Obama administration, condemned the attack.
America and NATO created the destruction and chaos that is Libya through unprovoked, totally illegal massive bombing and direct support for the terrorist organizations that now not only terrorise that nation and its neighbors, but threaten to use the coast of Libya as the jumping off station for feeding a steady stream of terrorists into Italy and thus into all of Europe. WE DID THIS!! Because Gaddafi was a ‘brutal” dictator that kept the Libyan people well fed, pad for their college educations, provided housing for all and maintained Libya as the most prosperous nation in Africa. So we destroyed the country to prevent a totally hyped and trumped up risk of “genocide” of the rebels we supported in the now infamous Benghazi and not one mention of this when any of the Western Media government puppets discusses the chaos and terrorist threats that now define this nation?
And Obama has the audacity, the hubris to condemn other nations from taking military action when their citizens are beheaded wholesale on the beaches of Tripoli? Can you feel the total breakdown of order, the surreal nature of the levels of blatant and open hypocrisy oozing from the Oval Office the entire administration? If not, go back to Celebrity Apprentice and chew on the popcorn of freedom that is now down to the tough, unpopped kernels. The bag is almost empty. It soon will be and you will look up dazed and confused by the awareness of what you have allowed to happen to America.
